fishing at grandma's

The kids went fishing with their cousins at Grandma's house a few weeks back. They caught quite a few and the dogs were even getting in on it. Especially Otis he almost fell in the water. Everyone touched the worms and fish but Kurtis would have none of that. Pretty strange how all girls did it but not a boy. Silly Kurtis!!!

Our new addition

Kirsti would like everyone to meet Hersey. He is Kirsti's new pride and joy. She has been working very hard for the past couple of weeks on getting allowance. She has been doing extra chores also to save enough money to get a guinea pig. To make a long story short on how this all came about, she watched a Disney show about a monkey that a little girl stumbles upon and he is funny and does all kinds of tricks. Well she wanted a monkey. I told her they cost at least a $1000.00. She said she would save her money and get one. I said ok knowing what little girl could do that and not get interested in something else before she reached that kind of money. Plus we told her they are dirty and like to fling poo. As a little time went on she decided she wanted a guinea pig and new it was much cheaper. We said ok but she had to buy it on her own and show responsibility and do research. Hoping this would buy us a little time. Well our mistake was we went to a pet store to do some research and they had a pig in there that was 1yr old and had all his accessories. He was less than half the price of a baby with accessories. She held him and the rest is history. He is very sweet and she is doing very well with him. She is also learning about oweing money. She paid for about 1/2 and now is working off the rest.

Gymnastic Meet

Kirsti took a summer gymnastic course for 6 wks. At the end they did a little competition. On beam she recieved a 5th out of 20 kids. Anyone that knows Kirsti knows how competitive she is. She always strives to be the best. If she is given a challenge, she will keep doing it until she masters it. I love the drive in her.

Yesterday the kids and I had the dogs in a pet parade at the local library. It was silly but fun. Kirsti took care of Romeo and Kurtis took care of Otis. Each child had to bring the dog in front of the judges and and tell them a little bit about them. Romeo won the sweetest face. Otis won shortest tail. The dogs were very well behaved. Of course they had to do the traditional butt smelling.

Randi made me do it!!!!

I finally have joined the blogger world thanks to Randi's constant nagging. So now I have one more thing on my list that I will have to keep up on. She first got me into scrap booking, so all the pictures from way back when are now being put in albums. That is a good thing and I enjoy doing it. Although it is hard to find the time. I am sure this will be fun too!!!! I know Randi will make sure I keep up on it. She is a great person and keeps my creative side going. Love you Randi thanks.....
